Cry of Nigeria
Oh Nigeria, my beautiful land, Blessed with riches by the Father's hand. Oil in the soil, gold in the ground, Yet hunger and sorrow all around.
The people are crying, the children in pain, Working so hard but struggling in vain. Bad leaders promise and then disappear, Leaving the people to wrestle with fear.
Oh Nigeria, hear the people cry, Tears in their eyes as the years roll by. From the north to the south, from the east to the west, We are praying for peace, we are longing for rest.
The villages tremble in the dark of night, Many cannot sleep till the morning light. Kidnappers roaming, spreading fear, Families praying, "Lord, be near."
The towns are troubled, thieves on the road, Many are crushed beneath heavy loads. Mothers are weeping, fathers are gone, Yet the people keep holding on.
Oh Nigeria, hear the people cry, Tears in their eyes as the years roll by. From the north to the south, from the east to the west, We are praying for peace, we are longing for rest.
Verse 3 Many young people searching for a way, Dreaming of brighter and better days. Widows are mourning, hearts full of pain, Waiting for sunshine after the rain.
But I believe that a change will come, Justice will rise like the morning sun. The land will heal and the wounds will mend, And peace shall reign from end to end.
Bridge Arise, arise, sons and daughters, Stand together across the borders. With truth and love we'll light the flame, And build our nation once again.
Final Chorus Oh Nigeria, don't give up now, Though storms surround, we will not bow. God of mercy, hear our plea, Heal our beloved Nigeria.
Your people are dying
You are suffocating us
We can't breath anymore
