(Chant) Aye! Aye!
South Sudan, we raise the flag oh...
But we must ask the questions, banange!
Listen close, hear the truth now!
We honor the blood, we honor the pain
Our heroes fought hard in the burning rain
Independence was earned, it was never a gift
But look at the youth, we are starting to drift
No jobs for the boys, no books for the school
While Kiir and his mafias break every rule
They chop all the money, they sell out the land
While ordinary citizens can't even stand!
We must do both! Raise the flag, cry the tears!
We must do both! Face the truth of the years!
South Sudan is free, but are we moving forward?
Oh, my people, are we moving forward?
U.P.A must act now, we cannot wait!
We must save our country, we must change our fate!
How do we dance when the stomach is dry?
How do we celebrate under this sky?
The promise was great, the beginning was clear
But the dream is now far, and the struggle is near
We sing the national anthem with pride
But we can't let the failures just slide on the side
Demand better leaders, demand a new way!
We want a bright future starting today!
We must do both! Raise the flag, cry the tears!
We must do both! Face the truth of the years!
South Sudan is free, but are we moving forward?
Oh, my people, are we moving forward?
U.P.A must act now, we cannot wait!
We must save our country, we must change our fate!
(Ad-lib) Eh!
Raise the flag high, but ask the hard questions.
South Sudan, wake up!
U.P.A, stand up now!
Ayee...
